SUSAN KERR - CIPRO
Born in London (1943), Susan Kerr studied painting, graphics at Bath Academy of Art [NDD] and Leicester University [ATD]. Acquired Cyprus Citizenship in 1966. Taught Art at American International School, Cyprus, 1987-2008.

Recently published book on Cyprus Contemporary Art, "Dialogue with the Surface", 2015. International participations include: "Europa" Berlin,

 Munich (1975), "Revolutions", Nicosia (1997), Florence Biennale (2007 and 2009), "Art & Integration", Pescia (2010), "Creative Energy", Ferrara (2010), "Spirit of Art", London (2011), Vienna (2014). Recent paintings are characterized as explorations of the metaphysical world and universe. "This search for pure abstraction, in which colour is freed from the subject, resolves itself in an expressive study of the elements" (B. Angiolini, Florence).

The work illustrated is entitled "Stars above the City", for wherever we are, we can look up to the stars. With research, imagination and fantasy we can project ourselves to these distant destinations; the stars; the origins of life; the source of inspiration for visual and spiritual expression.
